An Introduction to the Coffee Cabal

The Coffee Cabal (aka Coffee.net) is a Seattle based social venture organization that behaves like a non-profit, but aims to be self-sufficient by means of a profitable business model. Our organizational philosophy is that a business can exist with the primary purpose of doing good, rather than existing solely to benefit the owners or shareholders. (Evil is bad.) A succinct way to summarize our goal is that we make money in order to give it away.

On the surface, our Coffee.net website is meant to provide useful reviews of restaurants and coffee shops in the Seattle area. The reviews are intended to attract regular visitors to our website which will generate ad revenue for the organization. A full 100% of the profits generated from our site are reinvested back into the community, whether in the form of donations to local charities or direct assistance to worthy causes. Our organization is non-religious and non-partisan; we choose organizations to assist based strictly on merit.

By focusing only on the Seattle area, we hope that our organization can form the seeds for a community of individuals to join up and help not only each other, but local charities and businesses as well. At the same time, members of the organization are rewarded for their participation, enabling participants to help others while benefiting themselves at the same time.

There is no cost to join the Coffee Cabal and we only ask that you share some of our philosophy of helping others or simply the pleasure of enjoying food. As more members join, our influence and ability to make a difference increase, so please consider signing up!
