As a social venture organization, Coffee.net has a mission of supporting and sponsoring local charities, non-profits and organizations. Our goal is to help finance groups that benefit the local community at large.
As a small organization, we strive to stretch our donation dollars as far as possible. Originally, our plan was to research, compile and publish a rating guide to various Seattle charities. From this guide, we would make our own decisions on which charities to support. After we got in contact with a number of organizations however, we quickly realized that developing a rating guide would not only be challenging, but hard to quantify. This eventually led us to scrap the ratings guide and start in a new direction.
The new direction that we're taking is still developing itself, but we have a better perspective in deciding which charities to support. Part of our decisions are still based on hard facts regarding spending, fund raising and operating overhead, but we also have an eye out for community involvement, leadership potential and urgency of need.
While we are still in the process of evaluating more charities, we have identified various organizations that we have chosen to support. You will find those organizations listed on this page, with links to more information about each group and our reasons for supporting them.
